Macau is a small semi-autonomous part of China, about 40 miles to the west of Hong Kong by water. Today Macau is noteworthy for being the sin city of China. Not only is Macau the only place in China with full blown legalized gambling, but prostitution is not illegal and widely available. Macau also has a wide variety of good restaurants and various cultural sites from the colonial era.
